Stanford University's wait list acceptance rate has shown significant variability in recent years. For the application year 2028, 1,256 applicants were offered a place on the wait list but none were accepted, resulting in a 0.0% acceptance rate. This follows a concerning trend: the Class of 2027 had an acceptance rate of 12.53% with 76 out of 607 offered, while the Class of 2026 saw a sharp drop to 1.45%. Notably, the Class of 2024 had a much higher acceptance rate of 30.47%, where 259 were accepted out of 850 waitlisted applicants. The historical data indicates a fluctuating and increasingly competitive environment for wait listed candidates at Stanford.
