We have a rigorous, 2-step, grade verification process in place that ensures that the grades reported alongside exemplars are as accurate as possible. It relies on cross-checking the grades with graduates' results as well as marking and moderating the exemplars by our internal team of reviewers and official IB examiners. This blog post explains in detail how the 2 stages of grade verification work.
Whenever an IA/TOK/EE exemplar is uploaded to Clastify we require a screenshot of component IB results to be uploaded alongside it. We carefully verify that the uploaded screenshot is valid and that it contains all the necessary information (session, subject, and grade received from the IA/EE/TOK). In cases where we might have doubts regarding the reported grade or validity of the document, we can contact the uploader to ask for additional proof.

Uploads that provide a screenshot of the overall subject grade (without the component breakdown) or are incomplete in any other way are always rejected and never displayed on Clastify.
After passing this verification stage exemplars are displayed on Clastify with the following symbol () next to their grade indicating that the grade has been partially verified.
When a grade is partially verified it means that most likely it's accurate, however, it's important to keep in mind that in a few rare cases, it might change after we mark the exemplar (described in more detail below).
We regularly mark exemplar IAs/TOK/EEs displayed on Clastify in order to highlight the strengths and weaknesses and to showcase how criteria should be met. Our users can request specific samples to be marked by us - we prioritize the marking of exemplars based on the number of requests they receive.
Whenever we mark an exemplar we also award it a number of points for each marking criterion - based on that the final grade is calculated. In most cases, the grade awarded after marking is the same as the one reported by the author during the uploading process. Sometimes, however, the grade of an exemplar might change after we mark it.
Once an IA has been marked by us it receives a blue check mark () next to its grade to indicate that the grade has been fully verified.
When a grade is fully verified it means that the coursework has been marked by us and you can be certain that the grade displayed is accurate. You can also see the reason behind the grade by accessing the exemplar's mark scheme.
Can I trust the grades listed on Clastify?
Yes, the large majority of grades listed alongside exemplars on Clastify are accurate. If the grade has been fully verified by us (i.e. has the next to it) you can be certain that it's accurate. The large majority of partially verified grades on Clastify are also accurate, however, it's important to keep in mind that in rare cases a partially verified grade might change once we mark the exemplar.
What if I think that the grade of an exemplar is wrong?
If you think that a grade listed alongside an exemplar is inaccurate you can report it to our team by clicking the button in the top right corner of the sidebar.
Our team regularly checks any reported exemplars and acts accordingly to ensure that all information listed on Clastify is accurate.
Please don't hesitate to contact us with any additional questions regarding our grade verification process.
