Brown University's waitlist acceptance rate for the application year 2024 stood at 2.83%, with 1,200 applicants offered a place on the waitlist and only 34 ultimately accepted. This marks a significant decrease from the previous year, 2023, where 1,000 applicants were offered waitlist spots and 127 were admitted, resulting in a much higher acceptance rate of 12.7%. Over the past few years, the acceptance rates have fluctuated, peaking at 19.4% for the application year 2022, while falling to as low as 2.13% in 2020. This trend indicates an increasing competitiveness and declining likelihood of admission from the waitlist.
