Historical Acceptance Rates

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, shows a slight downward trend in overall acceptance rates over the last few years. In the application year 2024, Rutgers had an acceptance rate of 54.5% with 78,300 applicants and 42,682 accepted students. This is a decrease from 55.9% in 2023, where 76,500 applied and 42,800 were accepted, and from 57.6% in 2022 with 75,100 applicants and 43,250 admissions. Since 2020, when the acceptance rate was 55.3%, this trend indicates increasing selectivity at Rutgers.
