The University of Chicago's overall acceptance rate has experienced a significant decline, dropping from 8.81% in the application year 2021 to 4.8% in the application year 2024. The number of applicants has risen sharply over the years, with 38,800 applicants in 2024 compared to 27,694 in 2021. Early Action acceptance rates have also decreased from 8.73% in 2021 to 4.8% in 2024, indicating a more competitive applicant pool seeking admission through this route. Regular Decision rates followed a similar trend, dropping from 8.73% to 4.8% in the same period, underscoring the increasing selectivity of the University of Chicago.
