Historical Acceptance Rates

In the application year 2022, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University had an overall acceptance rate of 57% with 45,321 applicants and 25,825 students accepted. This represents a decline from the 62.2% acceptance rate in the application year 2018, when there were 32,103 applicants and 19,963 accepted students. The lack of more recent data prevents further analysis; however, the historical trend indicates a noticeable decrease in acceptance rates over the past few years.
